Once you have prepared yourself that you intend to write an ebook, it is recommended that you use a good word processor like MS Word that has spell-check, supports special characters, grammar check, sentence structure check, allows you to add images, draw tables with multiple rows and columns, etc. The motive behind which is to avoid any kind of error or discrepancy as it could be embarrassing to have silly spelling mistakes or grammar mistakes in your ebook.
Now that the writing process is taken care of, you can pay attention towards how it can be made more interesting and attractive. Depending upon the nature of topic of your ebook you might need to add images/charts, tables, hyperlinks,etc that makes the reader want to read the book as these elements add to the appeal of the book. After you have finished writing the book, make sure you fully proofread and edit the final version. Microsoft Word Format is not the appropriate document format for publishing an ebook due to several reasons one of which is that it can be manipulated or tampered with easily or worse, it could be duplicated by someone and claimed as their original content. So, a more secure format like PDF shall be considered for publishing the ebook as such situations would no longer bother you. It would be recommended to carefully finalizing your book as once you convert pdf from word, you would not be able to edit it readily for which you would need pdf to word converting software to convert the pdf back to word to be able to edit it. So, thorough reading and checking before converting the word document to pdf is better that doing it all over again.
